My family got all dressed up to attempt our annual holiday card family photo shoot. With an almost four year old and almost two year old, coordinating everyone is a bit of a challenge. We made the most of it and had fun taking photos. We happily missed the rain which started up two days later. I would have gladly hired a photographer to do our photos but it is tricky planning on a day and time that the little monkies will be happy and well tempered and in between naps. The main struggle with taking the photos ourselves...the autofocus and trigger! Lol. My son had a blast taking wayyy too many photos (most of which he didn't know how to let it autofocus on us) but it was super cute regardless. Although I had to scrap a lot of the photos we took because of framing and focus, we came out with more than we needed to put together our holiday card for family, friends and new friends that I've made from the weddings and photo sessions I've done.
I love having pictures together with my husband. So often one of us is behind the camera. This month we celebrate 14 and a half years together, 7 and a half of which we've been married. Christmas is going to be even more fun as a family than I think it ever was as an adult. Seeing the joy in our kid's eyes as they anticipate such a fun holiday makes us smile. We are lucky to have such happy children. I love you hubby!
I am over the moon with how happy I am and excited to give these beautiful wooden keepsake boxes to my photography session clients and wedding clients. All edited images are presented on a USB engraved drive in color and black and white sized large enough to print an 8x10. Each client receives a personalized mini canvas with one of the highlights of their photo session. The image I chose for this client and dear friend featured the stunning backdrop of Florence, Italy. Each box also contains a glass bottle filled with a precious item or chocolate.
What a great way to keep all of your memories together forever and showcase them on your shelf! A lot of clients like to display the mini canvas and glass bottle so they can keep additional mementos in the box. What a great place to store wedding cards, small family treasures or baby's tiny keepsakes like their silver spoon or hospital bracelet. Also a great gift box for those who give photo sessions to their graduating seniors.
You know when you get that feeling...that urge to be productive, amazing, successful and you just dive head first like true love? I feel that way right now for all of my future and returning wonderful clients...friends that I have grown to love and appreciate and so bad want great things for. I love you all and wish you the best of luck and encourage you to live the greatest day today! You can make splendid things come true in this moment. You have complete control over right now. Make it count.
Two of the coolest babies I know and I had the honor of taking family portraits for them. They are going to grow up and be best friends and wonderful play mates. Big brother is sweet and kind towards sister and I can see a future where he protects and loves her. I am so excited to see them grow. We got to take photos with the last glimmering Autumn light on a chilly morning in Atascadero, California.
I am excited to announce my Instagram Hand Painted Portrait winner is @madi_puebla. She will receive a hand painted portrait from her mini photo session from her entry on my Instagram Contest #ContestHeatherMillenaar. Both her and @kimhazelhurst won enough mini sessions to have or be very close to a full portrait session complete with one of my custom wood engraved keepsake boxes. Photo session to be redeemed by the end of 2014.
Congrats to the winner this week for a mini portrait photo session @madi_puebla on Instagram. On November 14th I pick the image tagged with #ContestHeatherMillenaar that has the highest votes to receive a complimentary hand painted portrait. I'm super excited to find out who it will be.
