I'm finally doing it! I am painting our family portrait. The tricky part is picking which image I want to use. Going back through the ones of all of us together, I get picky. Ahh the light isn't right, ooh we're much skinnier now that we've lost the baby weight, blah the placement isn't what I want. Since a lot of our family portraits are candids or shot in the midst of commotion, it's time to take a fresh one for this portrait. Best bet, auto timer. With our busy schedules and my husband working nights, it's the best bet right now. Hey, if we don't like any then we'll just re-shoot once we're all on the same schedule again.
I am thrilled to start painting it!!
For those of you out there who would like some pointers for capturing those precious moments at home with your little ones, here are some quick and easy tips to improve your photography.
Congratulations to the happy couple!! Beautiful fun laid back baby shower...just like the soon to be parents! We are all excited to meet the new little addition.
Meeting with artistic friends always inspires me. My mind has been filled with ideas all night for photography shoots, package design, and creative ways of getting my name out there into this big beautiful world. Here I come!
Had such a fabulous time at the Chamber Mixer tonight. Wow there were a lot of booths! At least two hundred vendors. So many booths had food and beer too thanks to cookies at Apple Farm, brews from Tap-it brewery, and pulled pork sandwiches at F. mcClintock's. De-licious! The disco fever was Hot! So many Afros and spandex hot pants. They were getting their groove on.
Here's me with my fingers crossed for some great door prizes. Almost all of the booths had drawings with killer prizes. Woo hoo.
Tonight is San Luis Obispo's huge Chamber Mixer Showcase and I can't wait!! It's being held at the Madonna Inn Expo Center in San Luis Obispo. It used to be at Embassy Suits but they completely maxed it out over the last few years and are now going to be in this huge location.
I don't know if you've been to the Madonna Inn before and if you haven't, you should definately plan a trip. The copper cafe and elegant steak house have great amazing food. Almost every room is adorned with beautifully carved railings and colums. I can't leave out the color pink as every room has some of it including pink table sugar. Each hotel room is unique and majestic. and so much fun to stay in...as I've heard. I can't believe I've never stayed there before! Maybe as an anniversary gift some year with my hubby.
Picked up two fabulous vintage style suitcases for portrait sittings. They go great with my retro cameras and various other fun props. All clients receive their images processed in a vintage artistic style in addition to color and black and white versions. Can't wait to try the new cases out.
I had so much fun this weekend with friends. We shopped, got our hair and makeup done, and ate amazing food in San Jose on Santana Row. I highly recommend all ladies out there doing this as often as possible! It was great getting pampered.
Makeup by Sephora, hair at Atelier Aveda, photography by all of us ladies.
